conclusions although our patient had ckd stage 4, but his condition has not deteriorated and remained constant and stable for several years only by control of blood pressure and usual treatment which prescribed for patients at this stage case presentation a 78-year-old man presented with stage 4 ckd for 7 years; the glomerular filtration rate (gfr) and creatinine levels remained constant despite no change in his weight. introduction chronic renal dysfunction is a progressive and irreversible process in kidney function, which often resulted in chronic kidney disease (ckd) or chronic renal failure (crf). range of ckd is varying from proteinuria and renal failure to crf.

Stability of Renal Function in Spite of Low Glomerular Filtration Rate: A Case Report

INTRODUCTION Chronic renal dysfunction is a progressive and irreversible process in kidney function, which often resulted in chronic kidney disease (CKD) or chronic renal failure (CRF). Renal function in sick very low birthweight infants: 1. Glomerular filtration rate.

A total of 135 measurements of polyfructoside clearance as a measure of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) were made in 39 infants of 25.5-33 weeks' gestation, birth weight 720-2000 g, between the ages of 0.5 and 33 days. GRF was related to postconceptional age and increased exponentially from geometric mean 0.59 ml/min at 26 weeks' postconceptional age to 1.40 ml/min at 33 weeks. GFR in the firs...

Glomerular Filtration Rate and Renal Functional Reserve

Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is usually accepted as the best overall index of kidney function in health and disease. Normal GFR varies according to age, sex, and body size. In young adults it is approximately 120-130ml/ min/1.73 m2 and declines with age1. A decrease in GFR precedes the onset of clinical kidney failure; therefore, a persistently reduced GFR is a specific indication of chroni...

Effect of low dose 1 alpha-hydroxycholecalciferol on glomerular filtration rate in moderate renal failure.

Serial measurements of 51Cr edetic acid clearance were made over a period of one year in two groups of 8 children, in a double blind trial of 1 alpha-hydroxycholecalciferol (10 ng/kg/day) and calciferol (670 ng/kg/day). Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) at the beginning of the trial was 20-50 ml/min/1.73 m2; it rose in the children given 1 alpha-hydroxycholecalciferol (group A) after 6 months bu...
